Two events have been scheduled for celebrating Independence Day on July 4 here in Manassas.
Celebrate America July 4 will kick off at 3:00 pm in Historic Downtown Manassas with an all-American party put on by historic Manassas, Inc., and the City of Manassas. Kids can get their faces painted, ride the rides, and get drawings created by a caricature artist. Of course, there will be plenty of food concessions, and local vendors will be selling red, white, and blue merchandise.
Food vendors at Fourth of July events like this often use red, white, and blue paper products that have been printed with a patriotic-themed graphic design.
Everyone will want to bring blankets and lawn chairs and get good seating areas on the Manassas Museum Lawn before the fireworks begin at 9:15 pm. If the weather is unfavorable, the event will be rearranged for the next day.
For those wishing a more aerial view of the fireworks, there will be a Stars & Stripes Rooftop Party from 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm on the Manassas City rooftop parking garage. A live band will set the festive mood, and there will be drinks, food, and games.
Adult tickets are $50 and kids 10 and under will get in for $25. The Manassas Parking Garage Building is at 9102 Prince William Street.
