Local arts center to celebrate an evening of love

The saying “Virginia is for Lovers” is well known, and people in Manassas can soon see the Hylton Performing Arts Center’s ‘Toujours l'amour: French Masterpieces of Love’.

Opera lovers can experience the evening’s performance of classic French arias and duets from operas such as Carmen, Samson and Dalila, and Romeo and Juliet sung by the Met’s own Robynne Redmon, Richard Troxell, and students and members of the Castleton Festival – all under the baton of the festival’s principal conductor, Raphael Payare.

The concertmaster for the evening will be Paçalin Pavaci. Sam Magill, a cellist at the Metropolitan Opera, will also be performing with the Castleton Festival orchestra.

The event organizers will need to get those special programs to their printing services soon to have them ready for this one-night performance.

Food lovers can enjoy a gourmet French buffet, which will be served following the performance to those guests who purchased the meal tickets. The menu will include Steak au Poivre, Lemon Chicken à la Barigoule, Le Carre des Vosges Salade, and assorted artisan breads and sweets.

The event is set to take place on Sunday, June 28th, 2015 at 4:00pm at the Hylton Performing Arts Center’s Merchant Hall,10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas. The meal is scheduled to be served to guests in the Gregory Family Theater venue.
