A monologue workshop, art exhibit, and virtual talk and reception will all be on offer in historic Manassas over the next few weeks, giving plenty for those interested in various kinds of art to add to their diary.
A Saturday morning Monologue Workshop series geared to adults and teens will take place from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the ARTfactory, 9419 Battle Street on January 22 and 29, and February 5. The workshop will explore preparing, selecting, and scoring monologue techniques, and relaxation tools. The workshop will end with mock auditions and professional feedback.
On January 28, The ARTfactory will also open a new solo art exhibit by textile/fiber artist James Brown Jr. entitled “Capricorn Planetary Alignment 2020-2021”. The artist portrays his environment through embroidery, silk painting, felting, hand stitching, and using wool fibers as painting tools.
Brown will be following this up with a free virtual lecture on Zoom on February 5 from 11:00 am until noon. The link to view the lecture has already been provided and a question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.
A week later on February 12, a reception will be held for Brown from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the ARTfactory. Guests must R.S.V.P. to attend.
Artists like Brown often take pictures of their work and use them as personalized Letterheads.
