Downtown Manassas will be hosting two competitions during the next few weeks; one for art, and the other for soup.
Traditionally, Banners are hung from downtown light poles, and local artists have been invited to submit artwork for the upcoming Historic Downtown 2024 Banner Art Competition.
Winning entries will be displayed on street Banners and in walking tour Brochures, starting in April and running through until fall. Each entry must be labeled with the artist’s name and their piece’s title, size, and medium, along with the $55 fee.
First place winner will receive $300, second place $200 and third place $100.
All entries must be submitted by Friday, January 19. Judging will take place the week of February 12, with the winners are to be notified the week commencing February 19. Banner printing and brochure printing will take place between then and the beginning of April 2024.
The second competition to take place in Downtown Manassas will be the 10th annual Souper Bowl. Tickets cost $20, and will include anniversary Mugs sporting the event’s 10th anniversary graphic design, along with unlimited soup tastings from participating downtown shops and restaurants. Ticket holders will be able to vote for their favorite soup.
The Souper Bowl event will take place on Friday, February 2 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, and maps will be available at the Historic Train Depot, 9431 West Street.Get a Free Quote for Mugs Get a Free Quote for Brochures Get a Free Quote for Banners
