County fair on the way

The 74th Annual Prince William County Fair will be coming to Manassas mid-month. The nine-day event will have activities in nine areas around the venue.

The AGRI Culture Barn will feature the Rockin A Ranch petting zoo and the 4H exhibits, while the Commercial Building will have Moon Swings, along with local crafters and vendors.

The line-up in the Grandstand will include a tractor pull, two demolition derbies, rodeo, monster trucks, and motocross.

The Heritage Barn will house farming antiques and tractors, and the Home Arts Building will display floral, photography, and crafts every day.

A Kids Zone will be replete with two-hour Team Zoom dog shows, and pony and camel rides. The youth goat show on Saturday, dairy goat show on Sunday, swine on Wednesday, and the dairy cattle and sheep shows on Friday will all be in the Sheep and Hog Barn.

The Show Barn will have all the pageants, 4H Family fun night, Carries Brockwell, Page Country Ramblers, and Lionel Ward and the New World Band.

Pageant winners often take pictures of themselves and their trophies to local Print shops for duplicates for family and friends.

Admission will be $20 for adults and $10 for children ages five to fourteen and seniors. Tickets include parking, interactive animal exhibits, midway shows, and home arts demonstrations. Midway ride wristbands are extra.

Prince William Country Fair will take place August 11 through 19 at 1062 Dumfries Road.
