Church to hold egg hunt

Manassas parents will not have to drive very far this year to get their little ones to an Easter Egg hunt.

Early next month, the Easter Bunny will be leaving eggs for Manassas children from toddlers to 5th graders at a local church. This annual Easter Egg Hunt will also have other activities before the big free-for-all.

Parents with young children should know that the littlest ones will get to “find” eggs in their own reserved area. Also, before the egg scramble (no pun intended), the children can enjoy a story appropriate for the season.

After this, everyone will get a chance to make an Easter craft. In past years, the children have made little advent Calendars. As tradition dictates, hundreds of gaily colored plastic eggs hidden on the lawn will be filled with jellybeans, chocolate, trinkets, and other small candies.

Weather permitting, this will be an opportunity for the church to get some good pictures to take to the brochure printers for next year’s pamphlets, or have some Stationery printing done. Parents may want their own photos of their little ones for later postcard printing. After all, grandparents, aunts, and uncles like to enjoy these types of memories, too.

The hunt is scheduled for April 4, 10:30 am to 11:30 am, at St. Thomas United Methodist Church, 8899 Sudley Road, Manassas.
