Fairfax event to be choc full

An early February event is returning to Fairfax to highlight a popular treat.

The Annual Chocolate Lovers Festival is a celebration put together by the City of Fairfax, the Downtown Fairfax Coalition, the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, George Mason University, and the Downtown Fairfax Merchants Association. These organizations form the Chocolate Lovers Festival Committee. The goal of the festival is to bring locals to the Old Town Fairfax area, thus boosting traffic for businesses.

The event has vendors, interactive experiences, performances, displays, and historical tours. With venues throughout the area, there will be plenty of space for attendees to spread out and try everything. Guests can craft their own cupcakes or chocolate bars and try some beverages or candies. The candies can be purchased using special tokens, which can be bought from event staff or at the counter.

Everyone can also participate in a one-mile run, provided they register beforehand. Those who do will get a beanie to mark the occasion. A portion of the funds earned at the festival will be donated to local causes.

Information on the event is available on the city’s website. Attending is free for all guests. Many businesses that take part in these events will have Promotional Products made to pass out to attendees as a fun treat.

The festival will run between 5:00pm and 8:00pm on February 6, 10:00am to 5:00pm on February 7, and 12:00pm to 4:00pm on February 8.
