Chantilly museum to host first in-flight celebration

The National Air and Space Museum is hosting a celebration of two key aviation anniversaries at its Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center this March.

The event is part of the museum’s monthly Soar Together at Air and Space series, which is designed to be both inspirational and educational. Families will learn about people from a diverse range of backgrounds who have made a global impact by contributing to innovative or unconventional progress.

March’s session will celebrate firsts in flight, especially the 100th anniversary of the Douglas World Cruiser aircraft and the 25th anniversary of the Breitling Orbiter 3 balloon.

The event is free to attend, and participants do not need to sign up in advance. Parking costs $15. The program will also be available virtually beginning on March 8. Those interested in the virtual option can sign up for email reminders on the event webpage.

Attendees are also welcome to explore the museum, which is free to visit and open daily from 10am to 5:30pm. Its two large hangers are filled with thousands of aircraft vehicles, including the Space Shuttle Discovery. Museums often use brochure printing services to provide information about their collections to visitors.

Soar Together will take place on Saturday, March 9 from 10am to 2pm at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly.
