Walkers in motion at the mall
Revere Health is sponsoring a 5K mall walk in Orem in the next few days.
This will be the first event for the University Place Walking Club. Titled the ‘Lucky Laces Mall Walk’, it will be free and open to all ages.
Adult participants will get complimentary Mall Walker Fit Kits, which will be donated by University Place and Revere Health. At check-in, walkers can learn how to track their walking progress for prizes. The event will also have awards and raffles.
Walkers will receive a light complimentary breakfast. There will be presentations on health such as a Dietitian Q&A and Cameron Valentine’s ‘Enhance Your Walk’, as well as free screenings for height and weight, body composition, blood pressure, and pulse. An exhibit will be on the subject of ‘Rethink Your Drink’.
Usually, the mall walkers are at the mall before it opens, and they are usually made up of senior citizens. However, the group has participants of all ages seeking an opportunity to exercise.
Adults must register, but children 12 and under will not need to. Children are more than welcome, can participate in all activities, and are invited to take home balloons.
Those interested will want to mark their calendars for this Friday, March 17. The event will be from 7:30 to 10:30 am at the Mall at University Place in Urban Court, 575 E. University Parkway, Orem.
