UVU presents Short Attention Span Theatre
The Utah Valley University Department of Theatrical Arts Production will be presenting its annual Short Attention Span Theatre at the end of March.
UV’s motto for Short Attention Span Theatre is “If you don’t like this one, wait 10 minutes.”
The production will be a series of 10-minute plays, each with its own style and genre. The plays have been written by students from UVU's Department of Theatrical Arts for Stage & Screen. Students in design have been designing and making the costumes and scenery for each play. Student technicians will be working the lights and sound, getting hands-on experience in the production process during their undergraduate years.
The plays will be directed by students as well. The actors will also be students of UVU's Department of Theatrical Arts for Stage & Screen. Students will be getting plenty of pictures of their work in this production for inclusion in their professional brochures and portfolios.
All of the responsibility of Short Attention Span Theatre falls to Janine Sobeck Knighton, a Faculty Advisor at UVU. Sobeck is an assistant professor and directs playwriting at the university.
Admission will be $10. Short Attention Span Theatre will be March 30, March 31, and April 1. Early performances will be at 7:00 pm and late ones at 9:00 pm, at the Utah Valley University’s exBox Theatre at GT627 here in Orem.
