Utah Metropolitan Ballet announces pre-Nutcracker events

The Utah Metropolitan Ballet has announced two holiday programs to bring in the holiday season in mid-to-late November.

The annual A Midsummer Night’s Dream Gala celebrating the Utah Metropolitan Ballet’s 40th anniversary will take place at Wadley Farms Castle, 35 East 400 North from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on November 19. Guests can experience the beauty of the castle as they enjoy hors d’oeuvres and an elegant meal. The dinner will be followed with a live auction and a performance by the ballet company and its new orchestra.

Individual dinner tickets are $150 and a full table seating 10 people will be $1,500.

Later in the month, Clara and her Nutcracker prince will hold their annual Clara’s Tea Party as a harbinger of the ballet’s annual Nutcracker ballet. Godfather Dresselmeyer and the couple will meet and greet guests in the Wadley Farms Castle. Little guests can create a Christmas craft, participate in the Sugar Plum Fairy’s court, and watch snippets of the ballet performed by the Utah Metropolitan Ballet.

There will be plenty of photo opportunities. Orem parents who take photos of their children at events like this often take the pictures to nearby Stationery printers to be made into Christmas cards or put into a family calendar.

Clara’s Tea Party will be Saturday, November 27 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Tickets are $15.
