Three festivals have been scheduled for Orem during May.
A Cinco De Mayo Around the World celebration will be a dinner showcase including salsa, merengue, mariachi, folklore dancing, and piñatas. Guests are invited to bring their camp chairs and enjoy taco treats from the taco truck starting at 5:30 pm, a gymnastics demonstration at 6:00 pm, and guest showcase at 6:30 pm. A dance showcase will begin at 7:00 pm followed by a fiesta at 7:30 pm.
The free celebration will be May 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Marissa’s Dance Studio, 1051 S. 500 East.
On May 14 and 15 beginning at 1:00 pm, the Boardwalk, 1384 West Center Street will be abuzz with the Yes Horizon Music Festival. Along with classic indie bands, there will be music genres such as pop, jazz, rock, rap, blues, and EDM (electronic dance music). Some acts scheduled for Friday will include 19 Miles Per Hour, Carver Louis, and Isaac Parker. Saturday’s line up will include Suit Up, Soldier, EJ Michels, and Fall Away. Lastly, the 8th Annual Utah Dance Film Festival will take place from May 28 at 5:00 pm until May 29 at 9:30 pm at SCERA, 745 South State Street. The in-person part of the event will feature workshops, networking, and nine hours of dance screenings. Online viewers can enjoy four hours of dance films and UDFF’s past festival films.
