Orem supports world of dance
SCERA Center for Arts will present its 13th Annual Dancing Under the Stars in a few weeks. This program will feature jazz, contemporary, hip-hop and ballroom award-winning local, regional and national dance teams and artists.
Special guest artist from New York City will be performer and choreographer, Martha Nichols. Martha has been chosen as one of 2017 Dance Magazine’s “Top 25 to Watch.” Ms. Nichols will also be bringing her “Martha Nichol’s Dance Company that will present some of her work.
Other guests will be Charity and Andres the Utah-based duo that received the first perfect score on TV’s “World of Dance.” They will be joined by The Pulse, also from Utah and participants in the NBC dance competition, and Jason Willard.
Musical guest will be Ryan Innes. Ryan, a vocalist and songwriter who started his music career at BYU, was a contestant on “The Voice” in 2013 and has been gaining audiences since then. Recently, he has released his debut album “The Inbetween”.
A pre-show will have performances by dance teams from local dance studios.
Music organizations, especially those focused on dance, may want to get some flyer printing done to get the word out about this dance showcase.
The 13th Annual Dancing Under the Starts will be Friday, August 24th and Saturday August 25th at the SCERA Center for the Arts. Shell Outdoor Theatre, 699 South State Street. Performances start at 8 pm with the pre-shows starting at 7:15 pm.
