Orem police to holds unusual fundraiser

Orem Police Department will be holding its Fourth Annual Orem Bacon Run in a couple of weeks. The event will have a motorcycle run and vendors and activities for the nonriders and families.

A breakfast including bacon and on-site registration will kick things off, then the ride gets underway. It will take three hours and 32 minutes, and the route will be 171 miles. Beginning at 575 E. University Parkway, it will pass through Midway then turn southeast and go through Hanna, Fruitland, Midway again, and then back to the starting line.

Lunch will be served afterward and will be provided by Wallaby’s Smokehouse. Flash Back Brothers will be giving a live performance, which will be followed by a raffle. Monarch Honda will be donating a 2017 Honda Rebel 500 for the raffle grand prize. Registration includes the ride, a swag bag, a t-shirt, breakfast, lunch, and tickets for the raffle.

Preregistration which will close September 15 will be $20 per rider and $10 per passenger. After that, it will be $25 per rider. Passengers can ride for $15.

Those who may wish to give a little more support can get this information out to their business and civic organizations before any newsletter printing gets done.

The Bacon Run will be September 16 beginning at 8:30 am and ending sometime around 5:00 pm at 575 E. University Parkway, Orem.
