Orem goes to the fair and feasts at free food fest
The Utah County Fair is just around the corner.
This year the four-day event will open with, a Jr. Livestock Show, taxidermy exhibits, a carnival, an All-Star Stunt Dag show, a concert, and fireworks.
The second day will have a Lego exhibit, 4H STEM Maker Trailer, Scales and Tails, a pie eating contest, a talent show, and a rodeo.
Monster truck rides, and a monster truck show will take the stage on Friday night, and an Antique tractor and Powder Puff pull and a demolition derby are scheduled for the final evening.
A few days after the fair, Feast Utah is coming to Orem. Flyers for this event say it will be a free family-friendly gastronomic celebration of local fare.
Chefs and cooks from eateries around our area will be serving culinary samples. All produce will be Utah-grown fresh from local farms. Orem’s own artists will provide music.
Rachel Favero will be holding an exhibit called ‘Between Harvest and Kitchen’. Other exhibits will be displaying creative ideas for sustainable and local food.
The fair will be from August 16 until 19 at the Spanish Fork Fair Grounds, 475 South Main Street, Spanish Fork from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Wednesday and from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm on the other days.
The feast will be held at University Place, 575 East University Parkway, Orem from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday, August 26.
