Orem gears up for Summerfest
Orem is getting ready for the city’s annual Summerfest.
A free Kick-Off Party will be June 10th from 6 pm until 8 pm at the Orchard at University Place, 575 E. University Parkway. The evening will be replete with ice cream, storytelling and our local Jerseystreet Band. Jerry Ellison and Nalani Young will receive The Spirit of Orem Awards.
Scera Pool, 701 State Street, will throw a Pool Party on June 11th. Admission will be ½ off and Dairy Queen will supply ice cream.
Kiwanis Club will hold a golf tournament for charity on the 12th from 8 am until noon at the Sleepy Ridge Golf Course, 730 S. Sleepy Ridge Drive. Winners, at events such as this, love to get their pictures taken for poster printing or brochure printing advertising purposes.
Scera Park, 600 S. State Street, will be the location for the Re-Imagined Summerfest Car Show on June 12th from 6 pm until 8 pm. Classic cars, authentic and rare US. Military vehicles will be on display. The mayor and city council will grill dinner for the first 1000 attendees.
A family carnival, kid’s crafts, face painting, balloon art, Scales & Tails Large Reptile Display and the JuggleNutz will be in City Center Park, 200 E. 100 North on the 13th and 14th.
The park will also have the 3rd annual Wienerschnitzel Summerfest Hot Dog Eating and the Village Inn Summerfest Pie Eating contests.
