What's Happening in Orem, UT…

Orem area ski resort to host traditional fall market and barbecue

A popular skiing and biking destination northeast of Orem is preparing to host an annual autumn gathering.

Toward the end of the month, Sundance Mountain Resort will be holding its Harvest Market event for the 17th straight year. Stationery printing may be on the rise as representatives from Sundance touch base with the vendors and sponsors who have made arrangements to participate in the festivities.

More than 30 Utah artists and craftsmen have registered to set up booths at the event. They will be selling items like paintings, sketches, jewelry, pottery. Several photographers will also be on hand to sell their prints, and attendees will be able to buy handmade clothing, quilts, soaps, and furniture.

Another highlight of the occasion will be its vast selection of food. The day will include a barbecue complete with herb roasted chicken, tri tip beef, bakery rolls, and a variety of salads. A number of desserts and homemade pastries will be available for purchase too.

Attendees will enjoy live bluegrass music, and will be encouraged to embark on hikes and take in the fall scenery around them. The resort sits at the bottom of Mount Timpanogos, which is the second-tallest peak in Northern Utah's Wasatch Range.

The Harvest Market will be open on Saturday, September 28, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Admission will be free. The buffet will cost $14 for adults and $8 for attendees under the age of 12.

Sundance is located off Highway 189 at 8841 North Alpine Loop Road.
