Hale Center confirms 2021 season opening

The Hale Center Theater Orem will open its new 2021 season with Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy “The Importance of Being Earnest” in early January, with its Youth Stage hosting its first 2021 performance a couple of months later.

This Victorian comedy is a tale of misconceptions and mishaps that has delighted audiences since its first showing in 1895. Adult tickets will be $30 and child tickets for children from ages 4 to 11 will be $24.

“The Importance of Being Earnest” will be on the Hale Center Theater’s Main Stage from January 2 through February 13, 2021. Most evening performances will begin at 7:30 pm and matinees on Saturdays will begin at 4:00 pm.

The Center’s Youth Stage will have its first 2021 presentation “Disney’s Descendants: The Musical” in early March.

The synopsis of this new musical is based on the descendants of Disney movie characters such as Jafar, Cruella Di Vil, the Evil Queen and Maleficent. Their four kids – Carlos, Jay, Evie and Mai - must decide whether to be good or take after their evil parents.

Tickets will be $12 for adults and $10 for children. From Monday, March 8 through Friday, March 12 performances will begin at 4:30 pm and the Saturday matinees on March 6 and 13 will be at 9:00 am.

Businesses like to support art and education foundations like the Hale Center through corporate gifts.
