Giant eggs come to Orem
University Place Shopping Center in Orem will be holding its annual Giant Easter Egg Competition in a couple of weeks.
Contests have submitted entries and are creating giant “egg” displays. Eggs will be three-dimensional, egg shaped, between 2 ½ to 3 ½ feet tall, stand on 18” square to 36” square sturdy bases and are constructed from any type of material. The egg, stand and extensions must be under 5 feet tall. The displays will be delivered from 5:00 to 9:00 pm, March 28th at the Center’s Los Hermanos entrance.
All eggs can be viewed in City Court. The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite egg from Monday, March 29th through Saturday, April 3rd.
On April 3rd afternoon, the shopping center will feature an Easter Extravaganza. The last part of the event will be the announcing of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the Giant Egg competition. First place winner will receive $1000.
Many winners of competitions such as this often enjoy bragging rights along with their prizes. They often have pictures taken of themselves with their entries, take the pictures to local print shops and have duplicates printed for friends and relatives.
