The Utah Valley University School of the Arts will be offering Orem dance aficionados the opportunity to enjoy an evening of modern dance being presented as part of its ‘Accelerate’ showcase.
The performance is described as synergy sharing dance as a form of art, and it includes sudden movements, which the troupe describe as ‘explosive’, and intriguing movements that provide for an innovative performances.
Dancers will include guest artists, and both faculty and students—choreography will be arranged by students with assistance from faculty. Attendees are invited to experience the performance rather than sit passively, allowing them to feel as if they are taking part in the freedom of movement. Family members will want to bring cameras for capturing images of their loved ones for later use in postcard printing.
The school offers students at the university and people that live in the Utah Valley community an active production program that includes five or six major productions every year, along with various Platform Series productions.
The Accelerate program will be offered Thursday, January 22rd, Friday the 23rd, and Saturday the 24th, all from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Ragan Theater (on the 2nd floor of the Sorensen Student Center) 800 West University Parkway, Orem. Tickets will be $12 both in advance and at the door, and the box office will open at 6:00 pm each evening.
