What's Happening in Orem, UT…

Concert series to conclude with classic rock evening

In a couple of weeks, the Orem Public Library in partnership with various local arts and cultural organizations and programs will be presenting its last concert of the summer.

This one will be a free performance of classic rock by the B.D. Howes Band. The group will be presenting vintage, eclectic, blues-based 60s classic rock. The event will be free.

The four-man band, based in Salt Lake City, has a repertoire of original songs to go along with its eclectic rock play list, and prides itself on a Southwest blues sound. Starting out 18 years ago as a solo vocal artist and songwriter, B.D. Howes’ performances have branched out to include bassist Chris Schell, lead guitarist Chris Hamilton, and drummer Jay Thomas. Their latest release came out on July 8, so attendees are bound to hear some material from it.

This summer concert series has been going on since the middle of June, and has been a mix of vocal jazz, Celtic, bluegrass, country, pop, classic violin, and classic rock performances. Local businesspeople have had ample opportunities to use their digital business cards before and after the performances.

This concert is scheduled for Monday, July 27 on the Stage at City Center Park at 7:00 pm. The stage is located in City Center Park in the southeast corner near 400 East and 100 North, Orem.
