Orem locals looking for a good excuse to get out of the house and commune with other locals, friends, or relatives will get a chance with a showing of a classic film next month.
The SCERA Theater will be offering a showing, on a giant screen, of ‘Adam’s Rib’. The classic is a movie made in 1947 starring Spencer Tracey and Katherine Hepburn.
The setting for the movie is a courtroom, but the movie is actually a less-than-subtle version of the battle of the sexes as the opposing counsels are a married couple, Adam and Amanda Bonner. The colliding points of view of the woman on trial, her husband, and the married lawyers allow for some thought-provoking dialogue, humor, and smiles all around, the overriding message from which is that love wins in the end.
Those who plan to attend may want to have business card printing done ahead of time for sharing with other viewers, and no doubt the theater has been in touch with local poster printing companies to advertise the event.
The movie will be shown Tuesday, March 8, in the XanGo Grand Theatre at SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 S State St, Orem, at 10:00 am. The price of admission will be $2. The movie is not rated but is suitable for people of all ages.
