April heralds Easter season in Orem area
Many Easter-themed events are being scheduled for April in and around Orem. All are still set to go ahead at the time of writing, though checking for updates is advisable.
On April 11, Vineyard Grove Park will feature its yearly Bunny Hop Egg Drop. Kids are to bring their own baskets and must be ready to hunt at 10:00 am sharp.
Olympic Park, 2650 W. Parkside Drive, Lehi will hold a Teen Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt next Friday, April 3, beginning at 9:00 pm. Teens from 13 to 18 are invited to bring flash lights and baskets and dress for the weather.
This year’s activities at University Place Second Annual Easter Extravaganza will be a lot like last year when there were animals to pet, treats, and an obstacle course. Build-a Bear sent Pawlette the Bunny so attendees could get their pictures taken with him/her.
For six days starting Monday, April 6 colorful giant eggs will be displayed in the shopping center at City Court. Eggs up to 3.5 feet tall and up to 2.5 feet wide will be free standing on sturdy weighed bases. First, second, and third place winners of the Giant Easter Egg competition will be announced at 5:45 pm at the Easter Extravaganza and the 1st place winner will be awarded the $1,000 Grand Prize.
Pictures taken of the winning egg may find their way to local print shops to become part of the winner’s yearly family calendar.
Easter Extravaganza will be at University Place, 575 East University Parkway on April 11.
