Winter survival skills course to take place in San Antonio

The Human Path will be hosting a two-day winter survival workshop at the North San Antonio Campus next month.

This introductory course is ideal for those who wish to reconnect with the land, gain awareness of their surroundings, and learn how to survive even in harsh winter weather.

Topics that will be covered on the first day include basic shelter construction, how to gather firewood and keep it dry, how to make a campfire in wet or cold areas, how to use a bowdrill, general wintertime survival, how to choose a good area to set up a camp, and advanced knifecraft.

On day two, further topics will be taught, including scout training, working with a team, how to communicate silently, the basics of moving with precision and stealth, scout trapping, and the basics of basketry. Print shops are often used by organizers of such events to create physical Copies of course Brochures or handouts for participants.

Registration for the two-day winter survival course costs $120 per person. There are hotels available within 10 miles of the campus, and enrolled students may camp free of charge on the 50-acre campus grounds.

This event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 1 and again on Sunday, February 2 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on both days
