The Water Lantern Festival San Antonio is set to be hosted in the city this October.
This popular yearly festival features the release of thousands of floating lanterns out onto water for a picturesque evening display.
This year’s San Antonio festival will begin at 4:00 pm and involve entertainment such as games and music. Food trucks will also be available throughout the event until 9:00 pm. At 6:30 pm, participants will design their respective lanterns. From 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, all lanterns will be launched out onto the water. The event will officially conclude at 10:00 pm. Poster printing is a preferred way for festival organizers to spread the word about events throughout the community
Those who wish to attend can sign up for the event online at $35.99 per individual before the last day of September. From Thursday, October 1 until the day of the lantern festival, registration will cost $45.99 per person. Last minute registration on the day of the event will be priced at $55.99 per individual.
Ticket purchases include all necessary festival materials including an admittance wristband, a lantern kit, an LED candle, a marker, and a drawstring bag. All lanterns will be collected from the lake at the end of the day.
This festive event is scheduled to take place at Elmendorf Lake Park on Saturday, October 24.
