Starbucks to expand in San Antonio

Starbucks is planning to open another San Antonio location, to add to the 60 stores already located in the Alamo City.

The new shop will be located on the north side, at the corner of Cielo Vista Drive and the Interstate 10 Frontage Road – just to the west of Camp Bullis, an installation providing training for military personnel. Work is lined up to begin in November this year and end sometime in November 2016, according to the records filed by the company.

The approximate cost of building the new store for the coffee giant is estimated at $175,000. It has also been rumored that the Seattle-based coffeehouse chain plans to open additional new stores in other areas of San Antonio in the future.

The coffee company has locations in every state and around the world, and records billions of dollars in sales annually. The first Starbucks opened in Seattle in Pike Place Market in 1971, and the chain has done nothing but expand since, with more than 21,000 Starbucks operating currently around the world. The company name comes from a character in ‘Moby Dick’, and was picked to honor early seagoing coffee traders.

The franchisee could work with a banner printing company to create a fun, colorful banner to hang about the store entrance to help celebrate the opening.
