Specialty grocer getting ready to open second location in San Antonio

Natural Grocers, a specialty grocery store, has had a site finalized in San Antonio, Texas, for over a year, but is only now getting ready to open

According to an article in the San Antonio Business Journal, the new grocery, which offers 15,000 square feet of retail space, should be open in the spring of 2017.

This is the second National Grocers store in San Antonio; the first opened less than a year ago on Northwest Military Highway. The second store is on New Braunfels Avenue and, like the first location, is in an area that already has other food stores, including H-E-B, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods Market.

The new store will hire 18 employees for various positions ranging from department and store managers to cashiers, It is also looking for a health coach. The grocery chain is developing nearly one-third of its new locations in Texas, indicating that it remains positive about the potential in the state.

At present, Natural Grocers has 130 locations in 19 states, and employs more than 3,000 people. According to recent announcements, it plans to open 16 more locations throughout the year.

Expanding companies can benefit by working with flyer printing companies, which can create handouts for distribution near a new location around the opening date. If coupons are included on the flyer, they may draw customers to try the new store.
