San Antonio welcomes Moe's back

A popular restaurant, Moe's Southwest Grill, is planning to reopen in San Antonio.

The chain is planning to operate locations in Live Oak and on the West Side. Moe's previously had one or more restaurants in San Antonio that were still operating in 2010, but had since closed. However, records held by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation reveal that Moe's plans to open a West Side location at 9226 Potranco Road.

The corporation plans to begin renovations in March and hopes to complete them some time in May, at a cost of about $185,000. According to an announcement on the company's website, a second San Antonio store will open in the Live Oak area, at 8000 Pat Booker Road, soon.

Focus Brands, Inc., which is based in Atlanta, owns Moe's. There are more than 600 Moe's stores throughout the Untied States and other countries, with other Texas locations in Houston and Dallas. Focus Brands is also the owner of Auntie Anne's Pretzels, as well as two hugely popular franchises, Schlotzky's Deli and Cinnabon Bakery, and other chains.

Moe's prides itself on using only fresh ingredients, and invites its patrons to assemble their own Southwestern-style meal.

As the West Side restaurant gets ready to open, operators could work with a flyer printing company to create a handout, perhaps including a coupon, to celebrate the opening.
