A traditional holiday will be celebrated in a big way in late October, with multiple days of festivities. Everything will end with a broadcast of one particular piece in early November.
Spiritlandia highlights the traditional Dia de los Muertos holiday. Known as Day of the Dead in English, the celebration honors those who have passed away. The event’s biggest attraction is its River Parade, which is full of floats, music, artistry, celebrities, and more. Floats are sponsored by various local companies and they depict different aspects of the traditions incorporated into the holiday. The parade will be aired across multiple television networks, including the streaming service Peacock, in the form of a 60-minute program on November 1. This will be helmed by Mario Lopez. Tickets for seats along the route start at $25 and can be bought through the River Walk website. The main location is La Villita San Antonio.
Over the course of four days, a multitude of events and experiences will take place. Vendors will be present with food, drinks, and handmade items. A wall and altar will be put up for guests to pay tribute to those they have lost. Family-friendly activities will specifically be set up on the final two days. A full schedule is available on the festival’s website. A detailed program for the parade is also there to view. Flyer printing is often used in promotion of celebrations.
The celebration with run from October 27 to 30, kicking off at 3:00 pm on the opening Thursday.
