San Antonio Water Lantern Festival is taking place in a few weeks.
The event is a celebration full of creativity, friendship, love, and community. Those who purchase a ticket will get to decorate their own paper lantern, which they will eventually float out into a pond. The lanterns make use of materials like wood, rice paper, and an LED candle. This allows for the event to be safer and kinder to the environment.
The lanterns will be picked up by event staff, alongside other items in and close to the water. This is covered by the ticket price, allowing for guests to make an environmental contribution.
Everyone is welcome to attend the event and decorate their lantern however they like. It can be themed around a tribute to a loved one, a wish or dream, happiness, an anniversary, or even just covered in doodles.
The festival also includes access to a selection of food trucks, an entry into a giveaway and scavenger hunt, and a bag of gifts. Often, gifts will be printed with the Logo Design of the event they come from. Tickets range from $17.70 to $28.33 at the time of writing, with prices increasing as the event gets closer. Those aged seven and under can attend free, although the lantern kit and other perks are not included with free tickets.
The festival is taking place on Saturday, September 28 from 4:30pm to 8:30pm at Millers Pond Park.
