Piatti, the popular San Antonio restaurant located on Basse Road, is currently undergoing renovations before reopening with a new program for its bar, and an updated look.
Among the proposed changes are upholstered booths, new window coverings, and locally made pecan tabletops. New lighting will be installed, featuring custom-made, oversized steel and linen drum chandeliers, more room in the bar for diners, a new bar top made of stone, and accents made of steel throughout the restaurant.
Piatti is located in the trendy Alamo Quarry Market, which is located only 10 minutes from the city's downtown and its popular River Walk, and is home to a number of unique retail shops and boutiques. Piatti's menu combines Italian rustic cuisine inspired by whatever is fresh in the market.
Renovations to the restaurant got underway on September 14 and should be completed by October 7. Patrons who cannot wait for more of Piatti's Italian food are invited to visit a second location, Piatti at Éilan. Situated in a mixed-use development on La Cantera Parkway, Piatti's is at Number 17101 and can be found near the fountain.
When the restaurant reopens, management could work with a banner printing company to create a colorful welcoming banner to hang above the door, perhaps also highlighting the changes diners can expect from the new-look eatery.
