Rockstars to visit San Antonio in new tour

A long-running group with a unique style will be bringing their upcoming tour through San Antonio in mid-May.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are known for blending rock music with other styles. Started in 1983, the group has seen several members come and go in the time since then. The current and most well-known line-up features Chad Smith, Anthony Kiedis, John Frusciante, and Michael “Flea” Balzary. Accolades earned by the foursome include a spot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a Hollywood Walk of Fame star, and several Grammy Awards.

A selection of tunes from RHCP’s 13-album catalog includes “Give It Away,” “Road Trippin’,” “My Friends,” “Goodbye Angels,” “Peace and Love,” and “Under the Bridge.”

The show at the Alamodome will feature opening sets by Thundercat and The Strokes. VIP bundles come in two options at the time of writing. General admission tickets range from $29.50 to $1,650. VIP packages are also available - for $700.50, ticketholders will get a seat in one of the front 10 rows, a dedicated staff and check-in spot, a photo in front of a special backdrop, a gift item, a poster, a laminate with the tour’s Logo Design, a ticket to remember the show by, a chance to shop merch without being crowded, and access to a VIP lounge.

The concert is set for a 6:30pm start on Wednesday, May 17.
