Reading comprehension course to come to San Antonio

The Lit Institute is scheduled to host a two-day immersive experience on reading comprehension in San Antonio.

This course is ideal for teachers and other educators who work with children from grades K to eight. It will center on science-based research on the process of reading comprehension in young children and how to make instructional practices easier and more effective.

Enrollment in the Lit Institute course costs $1,000 per person.

Topics will include information on brain science and how kids process and understand what they read, how instruction can be modified to fit the most recent scientific finds on reading comprehension, the comparison of current instructional systems to improved research-based methods, and common myths about how children should be instructed to read and progress with their understanding of the written word.

Besides the content taught in the two-day event, the Lit Institute offers additional resources for participants to purchase. These include a comprehensive guide describing all topics covered in the main event, a copy of the course PowerPoint deck, as well as helpful printed materials such as course handouts. Print shops are commonly used by course organizers to produce corresponding materials for participants.

This educational event is set to take place on Thursday, January 23 to Friday, January 24 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on both days.
