Performer with decades-long career to appear in San Antonio

An icon of the music industry will be stopping by a local stage as part of a tour in mid-June.

Patti LaBelle is a singer, actress, author, and businesswoman. Starting as a member of The Ordettes in 1959, she has seen both rough patches and incredible success in the years since.

The Ordettes became The Bluebelles two years later, eventually transitioning to the name by which they are now best known as, LaBelle, in 1970. After the group parted in 1977, Patti LaBelle kicked off her illustrious solo career. She has been recognized in several genres with Grammy awards, as well as a place in the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame, and is a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. LaBelle has also appeared on both Dancing with the Stars and The Masked Singer, as well as several scripted shows, musicals, and films. She has also branched into selling food and Books.

A couple of the tracks she has in her large catalog include “Lady Marmalade” (originally recorded and released as a part of the group LaBelle), “New Attitude,” “If You Asked Me To,” and “Stir It Up.”

The concert will be held at the Majestic Theatre San Antonio. Tickets for sale at the time of writing are in a price range of $59.50 to $270, and can be found and purchased through Ticketmaster. Merchandise featuring album art or another graphic design is often sold as music shows like this.
