Multicultural experience returns to San Antonio

An event is coming back to close out March with a celebration that will showcase elements of cultures from around the globe.

San Antonio Folklife and Dance Festival has been around for 67 years now, bringing locals an educational and energizing experience. There will be workshops, food, performances, a shopping zone, and other celebratory activities.

While the workshops cost money, attending the rest of the festival is free.

The dance workshops last several days. The instructors have experience with dances which are of a variety of origins. Hotels are available, as well as dorms. Parties take place in the evenings.

For the shared rooms, if the guests bring bedding, the price will be $85. To have SAFDF provide it, the fee will be $115. For the solo rooms, these prices are $170 and $230.

Admission to the workshops is $100 for Saturday. For all three dates, if purchased prior to March 14th, the price is $200. After this it will cost $250. Registration is available on the SAFDF site. A packet of digital instructions is $40.

The venue for the festival is Rolling Oaks Mall San Antonio. The workshops are at the Multicultural Activities and Recreation Center, on the campus of Our Lady of the Lake University. Poster printing services are often used at festivals to aid guests with navigation. The dates are March 28th, 29th, and 30th. A full breakdown of timing is available on the SAFDF site.
