Bon Appetit magazine has added two San Antonio restaurants to its ‘Best New Restaurants for 2014’ list.
According to a news item from August 13, Hot Joy and Cured have been nominated and stand a chance of being named some of the best restaurants in the country.
Cured is located in the former Pearl Brewery and the restaurant has reused some of the elements from the former occupant. In addition to its innovative design, the magazine praised Cured's charcuterie board (smoked meats), which is accompanied by bites that include whipped pork butter used as a spread for bread, as well as smoked duck ham. Another favorite dish at Cured is sausage served with a fried egg on top, called ‘Wurst Case Scenario’.
The other restaurant on the list, Hot Joy, was honored for its cooking techniques as well as its use of unusual ingredients. The offerings are described as being “all over the map”. The menu items that garnered special mention were banana cake with black sesame ice cream, and Hot Joy's Tiger salad. Hot Joy is located in Southtown, a district just south of San Antonio's downtown.
Managers at both restaurants might find it useful to work with a banner printing company to create Banners to hang over the doors, letting patrons know about the magazine's nomination.Get a Free Quote for Banners
