A respected figure in the science world is making an appearance in San Antonio in late June.
Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson is a scientist with a PhD in the field of Astrophysics, and a BA in Physics. In addition to this, Dr. Tyson works as a face of the scientific community in the media, often appearing on shows as a host or guest. He has written a number of Books covering all things space, and is serving as Hayden Planetarium’s head; only the fifth person to do so since 1935. He has also become the first person to serve the Frederick P. Rose Directorship for the planetarium. At the American Museum of Natural history, Dr. Tyson is a Department of Astrophysics research associate.
The Delusions of Space Enthusiasts Tour will visit the H-E-B Performance Hall. Along with the talk from Dr. Tyson, there will be some interactive experiences run by staff from the Scobee Education Center, located within the Feik Family Rotunda.
Tickets for the show are sold via the web page for the Tobin Center. Prices range between $49.50 and $114.50. A special question-and-answer session with Dr. Tyson is available for a fee of $250. Poster printing is often used as a promotion method for touring shows, as well as appearances by guest speakers.
The event kicks off on Thursday, June 20 at 7:30pm.
