Plano literature fans will soon be heading to the nearby community of Allen to participate in an event that will bring readers together with some up and coming authors from the local area and further afield as well.
The community’s Hilton Garden Inn will be the site for the 2017 Readers and ‘Ritas Weekend Event, which will feature lots to see and do for those who love to curl up with a good book.
There will be opportunities for them to meet and mingle with the writers during author parties, writers’ workshops, and discussion panels, and there will also be networking sessions, meals, and lots of other activities on the agenda. The guests of honor for the occasion will be Marie Bostwick, Sherrilyn Kenyon and Cathy Maxwell, and there will be several other authors in attendance as well.
In an effort to make the event as accessible as possible, two different ticket options have been made available. Guests can choose between the Saturday only reader ticket, which includes access to the activities and meals that will be held on Saturday, while the Reader weekend pass also includes entry into the writer’s workshops, priority seating at meals, and a goodie bag of swag to take home with them. Ad specialties and other items that can be used for this can be produced by a local printer.
This event, which has a literary theme, has been planned for November 10 to 12 at the Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Allen, and more information can be found on its Facebook listing.
