Texas set for Santa invasion

Runners in Plano are to be put through their paces next month, as ‘Santa Run Texas’ invites individuals to put on a Santa suit and take part in a 5K run or one-mile fun walk.

Prior to the race, attendees can enjoy coffee, hot chocolate, and food from the trucks on the premises. Before the race starts, there will be a ‘Cupid-Shuffle’ warm-up. Afterwards, participants can enjoy a concert from Jordan Kahn Music Company.

Other highlights include Santa’s Village, where guests can enjoy a bounce house, browse vendor tables, and visit Santa. No doubt Print companies have been busy creating Flyers to help promote the event.

Registration for the 5K or the one-mile walk is $40 for adults and $30 for children ages 12 and under. Fees include a five-piece Santa suit for runners to wear during the event.

Proceeds from the event will go to help ‘My Possibilities’, a nonprofit organization that offers full-day, continued adult education for those with disabilities in North Texas.

The Santa Run will come to town on December 6. The fun starts at 8:00 am with registration, music, and snacks. The 5K will begin at 9:00 am and the one-mile walk gets underway at 9:15 am. Awards will follow at 10:30 am. The event will take place at the Dr. Pepper Snapple Headquarters located at 5301 Legacy Drive.
