Plano locals can clean up their neighborhood at a fun event taking place this month.
The ‘Great American Cleanup’ and ‘Earth Day Celebration’ invites residents to find a group of people, select an area to beautify, and spend the day cleaning up their area.
Along with the cleanup, participants can take part in activities such as building a hill of trash, or enter the ‘Most Unusual Trash’ contest. There will also be an arts and crafts area in which individuals can use recycled materials to make art.
Attendees may want to visit one of the many vendors. No doubt companies are using digital Business Cards for the event.
The main stage will have live, family friendly entertainment such as bands, a pep rally, and a ‘Birds of Prey’ show. A recycling truck and animal adoption area will also be available. Volunteers who wear their ‘cleanup’ shirt on event day will be given a free lunch.
Cleaning supplies can be picked up from April 15 until April 17 at The SEED Offices, located on 4200 West Plano Parkway.
The official cleanup takes place on April 18, beginning at 9:00 am. However, those who register can choose to participate on the day of the event or clean up any day before May 31.
