Kids often enjoy learning about the natural world, and a Plano area activity will encourage them to get down and dirty.
The Carrollton Public Library at Josey Ranch Lake has teamed up with the Denton County Master Gardener Association to offer a class that will introduce participants to the practice of making seed bombs. Targeted at the younger set, the session will run for one hour.
During the activity, Master Gardener Cheryl Huckabee will teach kids how to craft seed bombs, and the species used will be ones that tend to perform well in local growing conditions. The attendees will find out the best time and places to plant them, and they will also discover how to care for their new garden. The techniques may also be used with other seed types as well, and the goal is to show how much fun home horticulture can be.
While a learning session may offer an introduction to a particular hobby or pastime, the participants may want to learn even more. Handouts can provide this information, and these may be prepared for an event by area Stationery printers.
This introduction to seed bomb making will be on offer on March 15 at 1700 Keller Springs Road in Carrollton. It is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm and wind up at 3:00 pm.
