Plano runners, and those who are just looking to spend a fun morning with their friends, are invited to don their greenest outfits and join in the Run of the Irish.
The event, which is open to runners and walkers alike, has been planned as an fun activity. People can choose to run or walk, and prizes will be given to the best green costumes. Each participant will receive beads to wear while they follow the race course, and at the end, the participants are encouraged to head over to the St. Patrick’s Day Block Party at Ringo’s Pub, where their hosts will provide them with the first beer free of charge.
Awards will be given to the top finishers in the different age categories, and the event will be both chip and gun timed. The winners will receive specially designed custom Drinkware that has been created especially for the event. All are welcome, and those who plan on taking part as a group of 25 or more are asked to contact the organizers at customerservice@mellew.com, who will be happy to make doing so as easy as possible.
The Run of the Irish will be held on March 11, starting at 9:00. The cost to participate is $28 for adults and $23 for children who are 12 years of age and under. Additional details and an opportunity to register can be found on its website.
