An upcoming event that is planned for Plano will give locals a chance to learn more about their community’s history while doing their part to preserve it.
The Tombstone Mysteries- Solve’Em and Save’Em will see 300 people come together in the Plano Mutual Cemetery to learn more about the site and the lives of the people who are buried there.
Staff from the Plano Conservancy will be on hand to explain what the symbols on the tombstones mean, and to provide information about the people whose graves can be found there. They will also explain why grave markers deteriorate over time, and how they can be cleaned and preserved. During the event, the participants will be invited to place flowers in memory of members of the military, and also to clean the gravestones.
Along with this, there will be refreshments and an opportunity to socialize and have a fun. Information about events such as this can be included in the materials created for public service organizations by newsletter printing companies.
There is no charge to attend, but the number of participants is limited to 300 and those who wish to take part must preregister.
Anyone who wants to find out more, or who would like to sign up online for the, which is scheduled for April 16, a can do so by visiting the event’s website.
