Making a gingerbread house is a popular holiday tradition hailing from Switzerland, and Plano families are invited to become kitchen architects during a workshop planned for the community.
All ages can enjoy creating their own gingerbread masterpiece, and thanks to Central Market Plano, families will be able to do so and have someone else clean up any mess. It is suitable for anyone age seven and up, and to help keep everyone safe, only a limited number of registrations will be accepted.
The gingerbread walls and roof will be provided to each ticket holder, as will the candy and royal icing needed to add their own personal touches. Snacks will be served, and when it is time to go home, the participants will receive a box to take their masterpiece home in.
The organizers explained that, to keep everyone safe, masks are required, and social distancing will be mandatory. The class will be limited to two hours, and registrants are asked to arrive five minutes ahead of time. There will be COVID-19 screening Forms provided online for the attendees to fill out, and Stationery printers can supply hard copy versions of documents like these.
Central Market Plano, which can be found at 320 Coit Road, will be offering this construction session for sweet-tooths this Sunday, November 29. It will begin at 1:00 pm, and the price is $58.88 for each gingerbread house.
