Planos Victorian holiday tradition returns

The Dickens in Downtown Plano event returns to Plano this festive season, transforming the town into a Victorian holiday postcard.

Locals and visitors can expect strolling characters, horse-drawn carriage rides, live music, and a tree-lighting ceremony as part of the event, in an attempt to blend festive spectacle with historic atmosphere.

This family-friendly happening will feature plenty of festive entertainment, from brass ensembles and Victorian costumed performers reading classic holiday tales to choral groups and local musicians. There will also be seasonal treats offered by pop-up vendors and downtown cafes.

With local shops staying open until late, guests can combine their love of strolling with holiday shopping. Free parking is also available in multiple lots near downtown, and organizers encourage guests to arrive early to enjoy the different performances before the lighting ceremony.

As night falls, attendees will be able to gather for the official lighting of the downtown Christmas tree. Guests are, therefore, encouraged to dress in layers to stay warm throughout the event. To help spread the word at such events, organizers can leverage banner printing to display these announcements and attract foot traffic downtown.

Dickens in Downtown Plano is set for December 6, 2025, from 4:00 to 9:00 pm. The festive celebration and lighting ceremony will take place at Haggard Park, McCall Plaza, and portions of 15th Street.
