Starting a small business can be a real leap of faith, and a workshop will soon be offered in Plano that can help to demystify the legal aspects of doing so.
Traveland Law’s Terry Traveland will be conducting a seminar that will seek to answer a number of questions that could be posed by a potential small business owner. There will be a discussion of the different types of business entities that can be formed, as well as the legal aspects of each, and there will also be details provided about how a company can minimize its liability.
Attendees will get tips about how they can work with their legal representative and save money doing so, and information about different financing options for an enterprise will also be included. The day will be rounded out by a discussion about intellectual property, including copyrights, trademarks, patents, and trade secrets.
Anyone in the community who is considering starting their own company is welcome, and accommodations may be available for anyone for whom English is a second language, or who has a disability and would like to attend. Anyone who requires this is asked to let the organizers know upon registration. Branded Presentation Folders can be prepared for this type of event by an area printer.
The workshop will be held on October 18 in Plano, and it will run from 6:30 until 9:30 pm. More details can be obtained by contact the organizers through their Facebook page.
