According to the administrators of the BEST Neighborhoods Designation program, it is awarded to communities that are:
“beautiful, engaged, safe, and thriving”
Applications for the initiative are accepted each year in late summer and early autumn. There are three different levels to the program: silver, gold and platinum.
Resident groups that feel their area is one of the best in the city are invited to apply to be recognized. Each neighborhood awarded one of the three designated levels will be able to indicate this on the Plano website. They will also be able to add the award’s Logo Design to their online and social media accounts as well as any printed Promotional Products they might use, such as Brochures, newsletters and event Flyers.
Any neighborhoods awarded the “Best Neighborhood” designation will retain this for a period of five years. Applications for the program can be submitted until 5:00 pm on October 1st.
