Plano is well known as a community that cares, and its compassionate side will be on full display when an upcoming event hits the pavement.
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an activity that works to raise awareness of gender-based violence. Everyone who is interested can bring along their own heels to wear as they walk or wobble their way along the set route.
The walk will be held at the ArtCentre of Plano, and there will be prizes presented. Live music will keep the energy high as the crowd cheers on the walkers, and a roster of speakers will be sharing their own inspiring stories. Tickets to join the procession are $25 each, and there are also team passes available for groups of four or more. The monies raised will be donated to The Turning Point, which is a local not-for-profit organization.
