Plano Parks and Rec offers activity box program

A program by Plano Parks and Recreation will give kids a way to get crafting this summer, and they will be able to enjoy the activity on their own or with a parent.

The department’s Craft Box initiative, which is run out of the Liberty Recreation Center, is intended for youngsters from ages two to fifteen. It will celebrate the Fourth of July by offering kits with a patriotic theme. Parents interested are asked to register to receive one of the Boxes, which will be available for pick up ahead of the Fourth.

Each of the craft kits will be filled with materials needed to prepare a variety of projects, and the instructions will be included. Along with this, the recipients of the Boxes will find candy, pinwheels and patriotic decorations so they can celebrate the 4th in style. The registration fee for the activity is $12 each.

An initiative like this offers a way to help kids enjoy being creative, and Packaging supplies will be available at area printing services companies. These can be crafted to suit each customer’s needs, including any graphic design they wish.

These craft kits for the community’s younger members will be available for pick up on July 2 and 3 at the Liberty Recreation Center. The registered families can stop by between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm.
