Plano foodies who would like to add to their knowledge of wine may want to make plans to be part of an event that will do a good turn for Texas kids. It will focus on how choosing the right glassware can make a big difference when tasting wine, and it will be held this fall.
The three-hour long event will explore how the shape of a wine glass can heighten the experience of enjoying what’s inside, including how it affects its bouquet, over all taste, balance, and finally the finish. This will be led by Doug Reed, who is a ‘Riedel Ambassador’, and expert when it comes to pairing the right glass with a particular wine.
Each of the ticket holders for the occasion will have a chance to sample four different vintages, and they will also receive a set of four Riedel tasting glasses. Once this portion of the event is over, they will be welcome to sample even more wines and food at the Food and Wine Fest that has been planned.
The proceeds from this opportunity for local wine lovers to add to their knowledge will be donated to Scottish Rite for Children Frisco, which is a hospital that focuses on providing pediatric orthopedic care. Information sheets that offer more details about the relationship between wine and the glass in which it is served can be crafted by Print shops for this sort of occasion, and can be referred to by the guests in the future.
The Colony’s Chapel at Ana Villa will be welcoming ticket holders for the Ebby Frisco Food and Winefest on October 10. Tickets for the function start at $50.00.
